Abstract
The geographical goal lies in reaching the geographical truth through the phenomenon and analyzing it spatially by benefiting from the data of the related specializations to form a new perspective that regulates the relationship between geography and other sciences, and based on the pivotal role that geography plays in the economic field in particular, economic researchers have paid great attention to it, despite its modernity. Research and study in this field, as they gave it the attention it deserves as the backbone of the economy, and the science of economic geography, or economic resources, as it is often called, has become of great importance as a result of the multiplicity of man’s multiple and increasing needs. Economic geography is a study that aims to limit the various natural and human wealth resources, their distribution, and clarify the means of benefiting from them in the fields of agricultural, industrial, commercial, mining, and energy production, and the influences that these means are exposed to in each field separately, which are mainly due to natural factors. And humanity, which may differ from one region to another in the world.
Economic geography has received great attention, and has an important and prominent position among the branches of geography, as it is directly linked to economic problems and the international conflict in order to secure the population’s need for resources, whether in terms of quantity or quality. Hence the importance of this specialization on the one hand, and on the other hand, following up on the development of production. Consumption, the size of available resources, and the possibility of exploiting them are considered blessings that God has bestowed on His servants, and man must exploit them to his benefit and to achieve his changing needs.
