Özet
The research aimed at determining the level of participation of rural leaders in social activities in the district of Erbil Plain / Erbil Governorate and determining the variation in this participation according to a number of variables. The sample consisted of (41) villages, and the final number of local rural leaders included in the research was (102) rural leaders. The research consisted of a scale consisting of (20) items and were interviewed by (3) alternatives. The rural leaderships were identified by the selectors in each village, as each head of village was asked about the personalities to which the people of the village resorted to seeking advice and advice when they encountered an agricultural or social problem, and the results showed (48%) of the respondents had a high participation in social activities. In addition , it was found that there is a variation in the participation of rural leaders in these activities according to the following variables: social role , participation motives in Social activities , while it was found that there is no variation in the participation of respondents according to the variables of age, educational level, number of years of residence in the region, openness to the outside world.
