Abstract

PERCEPTIONS OF TEACHERS WHO KEEP SHIFT ON SCHOOL SECURITY AND SHIFT
This study was conducted to examine the perceptions of teachers on duty regarding school safety and duty shifts. The study is a qualitative research and content analysis was used as data analysis. The research was conducted to understand teachers' experiences during the watch keeping process and their views on security. The findings reveal that teachers view their watch duty as an important responsibility and that they play a critical role for student and school safety. However, it was determined that teachers felt unsafe during shifts due to lack of adequate support and resources. It is observed that teachers have the opinion that being on duty is a duty that should not be given to teachers and that being on duty is a duty that is incompatible with the teaching profession. The research emphasizes that teachers' concerns about security need to be understood and policy makers need to develop more effective policies on this issue. In conclusion, this study highlights the importance of paying attention to teachers' experiences and opinions in order to increase school safety and reveals teachers' attitudes towards guard duty.
