Abstract
CUMHURİYET DÖNEMİ MİLLİYETÇİ NEŞRİYATI KIZILELMA DERGİSİ'NDE SİYASİ VE SOSYAL KONULARA YÖNELİK YAKLAŞIMLAR
The Kızılelma Journal, which was influential in the Republican period, had important political and social effects. In this context, with the aim of defending true nationalism, Kızılelma offered an important perspective on the political pressures on nationalists in Turkey in 1944 and the nationalism debates between parties.
When the Kızılelma emerged, he defended the concept of ‘true nationalism’ and criticised the political uncertainties in Turkey. He criticised the pay rise for members of parliament, sometimes criticised the Democratic Party and sometimes supported it. He focused on the problems of higher education. The birth of the National Anthem and the climate of the National Struggle are among the other important topics emphasised by the magazine. Kızılelma dealt with the ideas defended by nationalist Turkish intellectuals and analysed the ideas of many intellectuals (from Ali Suavi to Akif) from the late Ottoman period to the first years of the Republic.
The Kızılelma Journal stated that Turkey should be defended against threats such as communism after the Russian Revolution of 1917 and Fascism-Nazism in the following years, with the understanding of nationalism in the Atatürk period. The authors of the magazine, who were disturbed by the international developments and uncertainty that occurred in 1947 and expressed their concerns, wanted to be included in the western world against the Soviet threat.
The Kızılelma Journal defended the view of nationalism close to Turkism and analysed the political-social developments of the period from the point of view of Turkism, and presented a view on the important issues of the country at that time.
