Abstract


NEW ISTANBUL BOOK A2 AND C1 TIME STRUCTURES REPRESENTATION IN THE SMURFS CARTOON
In this study, an answer was sought to the question of whether cartoons can be used in teaching Turkish as a foreign language. In this regard, in order for the cartoon called The Smurfs to be used as a material in teaching Turkish to foreigners, the A2, C1 levels of the New Istanbul Book (definite past tense, indefinite past tense, future tense, present tense, story of the present tense, story of the present tense, story of the future tense) were prepared. The first 5 episodes of the 1st season of the Smurfs cartoon were watched and the dialogues were transcribed based on grammatical structures (the story of the learned past tense). New Istanbul book A2 and C1 grammatical structures (definite past tense, indefinite past tense, future tense, present tense, present The words in the dialogues (the story of time, the story of the present tense, the story of the future tense, the story of the learned past tense) were scanned one by one and their numbers were determined. The number of words determined for each structure was proportioned to the number of words in each episode of the cartoon separately, and content analysis was made and its suitability to the levels was checked. This study As a result, the A2 and C1 levels of the first 5 episodes of the Smurfs Cartoon season 1 (definite past tense, indefinite past tense, future tense, present tense, story of the present tense, story of the present tense, story of the future tense, story of the learned past tense) are used in teaching grammatical structures. It has been concluded that it is a material that can be used.
