Abstract


AN INVESTIGATION OF SCHOOL PRINCIPALS’ COMMUNICATION SKILLS ACCORDING TO TEACHERS’ OPINIONS
Schools are the most important places in building the future of societies in a qualified way. School principals who are responsible for the management of schools should determine a management according to the requirements of the age. The most important factor in providing a management according to the requirements of the age is the adequate level of communication skills of school principals. The fact that school principals have an effective communication level ensures cooperation with the staff working in the school, creates a positive climate in the school, and this situation positively affects the performance of the employees and the academic achievement of the students. This research is conducted with the aim of examining and evaluating the communication skills of school principals according to teachers' opinions and presenting solution suggestions. In this research, case study model, one of the qualitative research methods, is used. Maximum diversity sampling method was used to form the study group of the research. The study group consisted of 21 teachers, 10 male and 11 female. A semi-structured interview form was used to collect the data. Content analysis was used to analyze the data. Based on the results of the study, solution suggestions were presented for improving the communication skills of school principals.
