Abstract


EXAMINATION OF TEACHER'S PERCEPTIONS REGARDING PRIMARY SCHOOL PRINCIPALS' CRITICAL LEADERSHIP STYLE-ÇANKAYA DISTRICT EXAMPLE
This research was carried out to determine primary school principals' perceptions of teachers about critical leadership style. The research was carried out in the screening model of quantitative research. In the research, the sample consists of 163 teachers selected according to the easily accessible sampling method, working in the primary schools of Çankaya District of Ankara province in the 2022-2023 academic year. The data collection tool used in the research consists of two parts, the "personal information form" and the "Critical Leadership Style Scale" developed by the researcher. Scale; it consists of four dimensions: "open-mindedness and flexibility", "critical decision making and actions", "research and communication", "focus on development and decision making". The data were analyzed with a statistical analysis program. Assuming that the data sets show a normal distribution, the data sets were analyzed in accordance with the parametric analysis method. According to participant teacher perceptions, primary school principals' critical leadership style perception level is moderate. Participating teachers perceive school principals at a high level in the dimensions of "open-mindedness and flexibility", and at a moderate level in the dimensions of "critical decision-making and actions", "research and communication", "focus on development and decision making". Teacher perceptions of primary school principals' critical leadership style do not differ according to the variables of teachers' gender, professional seniority, education level, and marital status.
