Abstract


EXAMINATION OF CHILDREN'S DIGITAL GAMING ADDICTIONS AND PARENTS' DIGITAL GAMING GUIDANCE STRATEGIES
The aim of this research is to examine children's digital game addictions and parents' digital game strategies and to determine the relationship between them. The sample of the study consists of 260 preschool students and their parents who were educated in the 2021-2022 academic year. The data of the research were obtained with the personal information form, the Digital Game Addiction Tendency and the "Digital Game Parental Guidance Strategies" scale. Children's digital game addictions were examined within the scope of Disconnection, Conflict, Continuous Play and Reflecting on Life, and parents' digital game guidance strategies were handled as Active Parental Guidance Strategies, Digitally Leading Parental Guidance Strategies, Free Parent Guidance Strategies and Technical Parent Guidance Strategies. The skewness and kurtosis values of the data obtained were examined. For the analysis of the data, t-Test, One-way analysis of variance and Pearson correlation analysis were performed. Descriptive analyzes and other analysis results were determined and presented in tables. Preschool children's digital game addictions and parents' digital game parental guidance strategies were examined within the scope of the child's gender, parent education status, parent age range and place of residence for a long time. While it was determined that the digital game addiction of preschool age children differed significantly according to gender, parent education status, parent age and place of residence for a long time, digital game parent guidance strategies differed significantly according to the child's gender, parent education status and parent age range variable. out. A significant relationship was found between preschool students' digital game addiction and parents' digital game addiction and parental guidance strategies.
