Abstract


SINIF ÖĞRETMENLERİNİN VELİLER İLE İLETİŞİMİNİN DEĞERLENDİRİLMESİ
This study was conducted in order to evaluate the communication between classroom teachers and student parents and to provide various suggestions to the identified communication problems. The study is a qualitative case study and the research group consists of 10 classroom teachers who worked in public elementary schools in Ankara province and voluntarily participated in the study. The data required for the study were collected by applying a semi-structured interview form developed by the researcher to classroom teachers. The data obtained were analyzed by descriptive analysis technique. The results obtained were discussed by associating them with the relevant field data, and at the end of the study, some suggestions were made for solving the problems. According to the results obtained in the study, the main reason for classroom teachers to communicate with parents is to support the student's development in all areas and increase his academic success. Teachers communicate with their parents most often by phone. There are also teachers who prefer to interview online through a computer. It is believed that teachers avoid meeting face-to-face with their parents because face-to-face communication due to the Covid-19 pandemic that has affected the world will negatively affect the course of the epidemic. It has been observed that teachers most often have problems communicating with their parents due to lack of awareness about the physical conditions of the school and the importance of cleanliness and education.
