Abstract


EXAMINATION OF CENTRAL EXAMINATION TURKISH QUESTIONS OF THE TRANSITION SYSTEM TO HIGH SCHOOLS ACCORDING TO THE RENEWED BLOOM TAXONOMY
Measurement and evaluation is one of the important elements of this system when education is considered as a system. Measurement and evaluation is a control mechanism that serves to detect deficiencies and errors of the educational system. Therefore, qualified measurement and evaluation tools are needed for a qualified education at the same time. As the quality of measurement and evaluation tools increases, the quality of education will also increase. It is one of the elements that increases the quality of the measurement and evaluation tools that the questions in the measurement tools measure skills at what cognitive level. In this context, Bloom's taxonomy is a frequently used classification for skills at the cognitive level. In this study, Turkish test questions within the transition system to secondary schools were evaluated according to the renewed Bloom taxonomy. In the study, a total of 60 Turkish test questions in the central exams of the transition system to high schools conducted in 2018, 2019 and 2020 were analyzed through a document review. The Turkish test exam questions were first examined by year, followed by a general evaluation of three years. 2018 high school transition system exam 14 (70%) of Turkish test questions are included in comprehension, 5 (25%) in analysis and only 1 (5%) in evaluation. 2019 high school transition system exam 16 (80%) of Turkish test questions are in the comprehension, 1 (5%) is in the application and 3 (15%) is in the evaluation stage. In the Turkish exam in the 2020 high school transition system, it was found that 11 (55%) of the questions were in the comprehension phase, 1 (5%) for application, 4 (20%) for analysis and 4 (20%) for evaluation. Looking at the three years as a whole, it was found that in 2018 and 2019, more questions measuring lower-level cognitive processes were weighted, while in 2020, questions measuring higher-level cognitive skills increased compared to previous years.
