EDUCATION IN SUB-SAHARAN AFRICA FROM THE FIFTH CENTURY AH TO THE TENTH CENTURY AH
After the advent of Islam, Sudan witnessed many changes, the most important of which was education. After the spread of Islam, it was necessary to teach the Arabic language because it is the language of the Holy Quran. In addition to that, it was necessary to learn the Sharia and doctrinal sciences. Therefore, the rulers and the people were keen to learn and attract scholars. The land of Sudan was fertile ground for them to plant the seeds of knowledge in it, as well as to learn about new horizons presented to them with the advent of the Islamic religion. Therefore, it is necessary to learn to keep pace with the great development that occurred in the country.
