İKİNCİ KARABAĞ SAVAŞI DÖNEMİNDE ONLINE MEDYADA YAYILAN SAHTE HABERLER
The transition from traditional media to digital media, along with speed, easy access, and low cost, has brought along some preventable problems as well. The flexibility of the virtual world against censorship and restriction can lead to the disregard of ethical principles in the media field. In this regard, the easy and rapid spread of misinformation in digital media platforms creates an environment for fake news. Internet journalism, fueled by the online sphere and evolving over time, has led to the violation of ethical standards with the publication of unfounded, unverified, and unidentified news. Moreover, the journalistic approaches of new media cause even greater and uncontrollable problems in the dissemination of fake news, especially in extraordinary situations. Therefore, the research will address the journalism policy of digital media in extraordinary situations, taking the example of the Second Karabakh War. It will explain how effective the measures taken by the Azerbaijani government, such as internet restrictions, were in combating fake news and ensuring security, with examples of identified fake news during this war.
