Abstract


EVALUATION OF VARIETY SEEKING BEHAVIOR IN THE PREFERENCE OF FOOD AND BEVERAGE IN TERMS OF SOCIO-DEMOGRAPHIC CHARACTERISTICS
Being aware of what tourists who have different eatingand drinking habits and from different cultures, are looking for in food, can give ideas to practitioners as well as help to display local gastronomic products of destination. An important factor affecting the preference of food and beverage is the variety seeking behavior, which is one of the pyschocraphic variables of the individual. Variety seeking behavior in food and beverage, directly related to the socio demographic characteristics of individual as well as being an important motivational tool for consuming different gastronomic products. his study, which aims to determine whether the variety seeking behavior affecting preference for food and bevereage differed in socio demographic characteristics, provides important data about the marketing strategies of local gastronomic products to the practitioners. In the study, a quetionnaire was applied to 816 domestic and foreign tourists visiting our country and the data was analyzed in the SPSS program. As a result of the research, it has been revealed that the behavior of variety seeking in food and beverage differ according to the socio-demographic characteristics of participants.
