Abstract
EXAMINING OF ATTITUDES TOWARD TEACHING PROFESSION OF CHILD DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATE’S DEGREE (DISTANCE EDUCATION) STUDENTS
The aim of this study determines whether there is a differentiation or not according to some variables toward their teaching profession of associate degree students on child development in distance education. This study is a type of descriptive analysis. Study group of this research consists of 170 students from Open and Distance Education Faculty of Istanbul University in 2016-2017 academic year. To gather data of this study, Attitude Toward Teaching Profession Scale(ATTPS) which developed by Üstüner (2006), was used. SPSS is utilised for sub-problem of this research and statistical analysis of data gathered by personal information and scale questionnaire. Data are analyzed by forming a table and evaluating and whether there is a significant differentiation between variables level of α = .05 or not. According to research findings, it is seen that attitude of students toward teaching profession is in a rather positive manner. No significant differences were found in terms of participants, attitude of students toward teaching profession between groups in terms of age, order of university preference, level of income, education and working condition of their parents, variables of teaching profession.
