The names of the plants have very important place in Turkish as it is on every language Identification of plant names of historical periods and examination of their structure Turkish’s presence of speech, the power of expression; has a very important value in that it shows the nature of the word existence and the ways in which it follows the new situations and concepts.
In this study, Turkish plant names and structure in the Calfa French-Ottoman Turkish Dictionary, which gave important clues about the recent Ottoman Turkish vocabulary, were discussed. In the dictionary, more than three hundred fifty plants have been identified. One hundred eighty one of these plant names consists of one word and one hundred seventy seven of them is noun phrase. One hundred and seventy three of plant names are simple word, eight are derivative.Only five of the plant names in the structure of noun phrase are in Persian form. This shows that, contrary to what is thought in Ottoman Turkish, is that the Arabic and Persian influence is very little, but that more words are followed instead of deriving from the roots or bodies that correspond to the new concepts.
