Abstract


THE VIEWS ON CULTURAL- FUNCTIONAL LOSS OF LOCAL ARCHITECTURE: CASE OF KADIKUYUSU VILLAGE
The local architecture forms are constituted by the whole datas of socio-economic/cultural factors such as climatic features depending on its geographical position, life styles, beliefs, economic conditions, main income sources, technological opportunities. Therefore, the underlying houses of constructive art can be consider as cultural heritage elements which give the most obvious and practical answers to physical needs. In this case study, Kadıkuyusu Village of Çifteler district of Eskişehir is selected as a sample region with its typical domestic architecture that is being demolished. Many village house, which are in the process of loss, were documented with photographs and by the two of them space organisation concepts were examined. First one of this houses belongs to Can family is abandoned and second one belongs to Topkaya family is still being in use. It was determined that property owners were directly involved into the construction process that is why the results of interviews with this people were included to explanation of literature reviews. The maintenance of local architecture heritage and to providing their cultural continuity to the next generations are the basic aims of the study.
