Abstract
THE LAST REPRESENTATİVES OF İMMİGRATİON FOR FİVE HUNDRED YEARS
The East Black Sea plateaus have a very special place in our culture and civilization lives. These plateaus constitute a kind of inspiration of the Turkish belief system, culture, art and literature lives. The locals who spend most of the year in the plateaus have made these places as a part of practice in daily life. The plateauing activities in the region have been carried out on a systematic basis for centuries. Giresun Plateaus are not only used by immigrants came from the coast, but also by immigrants from the inner regions. Especially immigrants from Erbaa and Karayaka are continuing their activities in Giresun Plateaus.
This plateau migration, which has been going on to Giresun plateaus from Tokat and its region for centuries is being carried out on a systematic basis. This migration, which represents a distance about 250km and a walk of 12-15 days, has been going on for centuries which has many cultural values in it.
In this study, besides the literature search, the information of the migrants continuing the plateau activity was also refered. This study constitutes a ring of regional studies carried out by Giresun University "Giresun Provincial Research Center".
