Abstract
NATIONAL IDENTITY CONSTRUCTİNG STRATEGIES IN POLITICAL PARTIES: THE CASE OF JDP(AK PARTİ)
National identity has the potential to create a common perception and stance that unites the nation and the state and more a national recognition, difference and belonging ground. Nation identity doesn’t only create belonging ground, at the same time, affects every citizen’s daily life that regulates political targets and adminstrative practices. Accordingly ,nation identity concept is extremely important for political parties which are political life’s main characters and political determinants. Political parties moving the idea of creating nation and wanting to be sovereignty provider, try to make real this idea with nation identitiy building strategies and consruction tools as creating nation identity. In this context, political parties which use tools such as language, religion, national and discourses also often use symbol, rituals which are tools oriented.
In the study, firstly the national identity and its importance were explained and it was determined what the instruments used in the construction of the national identity. Later, examples of how these tools were used within the scope of the political party were presented.
