Abstract
THE COMPARISON BETWEEN KENYAN AND TURKISH EDUCATION SYSTEMS IN TERMS OF GOALS, STRUCTURES AND PROCESSES
The aim of this study is to compare Turkish and Kenyan Education Systems. In this context, the information regarding geographical, economic, social, historical and political structuring of Kenya was firstly included. Kenyan education system was analyzed in terms of goal, structure and process. In the final stage of the study Turkish and Kenyan education systems were compared in terms of goals, structures and processes. Education systems of both countries aim to raise patriotic individuals and prepare them for their future lives. Unlike Turkish education system, Kenyan education system aims individuals to acquire how to be healthy and to support environmental protection. In both countries, Ministries responsible for education have centralized administration and inspection structures. When two countries were compared in terms of process, central exams have important places in assessment. Kenya and Turkey, as developing countries, can be said to have similar education system structures and processes; but Turkey, as a member of OECD, can be perceived as having higher academic success than Kenya.
