Abstract


SELF-ASSESSMENT OF TURKISH WRITING ABILITIES OF STUDENTS WHOSE ARABIC NATİVE LANGUAGE
The problems encountered in teaching Turkish as a foreign language vary according to the characteristics of target group and especially target groups mother tongue. Writing skill is the language skill area in which the problems of the mother tongue originating from the target groups are tangibly identified. In this way, studies focusing on the determination of the effect of the mother tongue of the target groups on the Turkish writing skill and the solution suggestion continue. In qualification completing the detection work, It is also necessary for the target group to perceive and self-assessment its own writing skills. This requirement is crucial for determining where they are challenged in teaching, for solving these problems, for supporting and enriching the teaching. At Gazi University in TÖMER, 2015-2016 period in YDTÖ program, middle and advanced level, self assessment and perception of their own Turkish writing skills of seventy of the native speakers of Arabic were revealed by structured likert scale surveys. The findings obtained from the questionnaires were interpreted and suggested.
