Abstract
ANALYSIS OF NASREDDIN HODJA ANECDOTES INCLUDED IN PRIMARY EDUCATION SECONDARY STAGE TURKISH COURSE BOOKS WITH REGARD TO VALUE TRANSFER
Nasreddin Hodja, the master of the Turkish folk culture who makes people laugh and think at the same time has been a focus of interest forquite a long time with his anecdotes that arise at the juncture of humourand criticism. It is substantially important that new generations get to know this wise person and have insight about his smartness, fine thought and sense variety in their Turkish course books. When Ministry of National Education 2016-2017 Primary Education Secondary Stage Turkish Coursebooks (4-8) are examined, we find out too urregret that Nasreddin Hodja hasn’t been given a systematicand and adequate attention. That Nasreddin Hodja anecdotes aren’t given a sufficient place in Secondary School Turkish Course books – especially for children in their abstract operational stage - is a striking drawback. His humorous anecdotes constitute a great source forlots of proverbs and are considered as distinguished examples of the Turkish culture and people’s subtlewit, hence it is worri some that students can not benefit from them so as to extend their universe of thought sufficiently.
In thisstudy, in which document review is going to be performed, Ministry of National Education 2015-2016 Primary Education Turkish Coursebooks (5-8) are going to be analys edreciprocally. Upon establishing whether Nasreddin Hodja has been given sufficient space in relevant books, data are going to be shown as charts.
