Abstract
THE INVESTIGATION OF PRESCHOOL TEACHER CANDIDATES’ SELF-EFFICACY BELIEFS IN SCIENCE TEACHING ACCORDING TO SEVERAL VARIABLES
In this study it’s aimed that preschool teacher candidates' self-efficacy beliefs based on gender, age and grade level is evaluated. The study sample is Ağri İbrahim Çeçen University Faculties of Education Department of Elementary Education Preschool Teacher who are studying at the department of 325 preschool teachers is formed. Survey method was used in the study and as data collection tool "The Scale of Self-Efficacy in Science Teaching" which was developed by Enochs and Riggs (1990) and adapted to the Turkey’s conditions by Bıkmaz (2002) was used. The analysis of the data was conducted with descriptive statistics, independent sample t-test and ANOVA. As a result, it’s been identified that preschool teacher candidates' science teaching self-efficacy beliefs are medium level, in terms of gender is differences that these differences in favor of girls, any differences between the ages and there is significant differences between grade level and in favor of the 3rd and 4th grades.
