Representatives of the Uzbek Oghuz dialect live in the Ellikkal'a and Tortkul districts of the Khorezm region, the Republic of Karakalpakstan, the Alot and Karakul districts of the Bukhara region, the Tashkhovuz villages of Turkmenistan, and the Karnok, Iqan, Karabulak, Karamurt, and Mankent villages of Kazakhstan. This article will focus on the Khorezm Oghuz, who are a large and main part of the Uzbek Oghuz dialect. The presence of various ethnic groups in the territory of Khorezm in history naturally left a certain mark on the anthropological type, customs, and language of the local population, especially in proverbs that reflect the national character and way of thinking of the people. This phenomenon is especially evident in dialect proverbs. There is no nation in the world that does not have its own proverbs. The national characteristics and identity of the people are clearly reflected in proverbs. Proverbs in the Khorezm dialect should also be studied as an integral part of the proverbs of the Turkic peoples. This article discusses the proverbs used in the Khorezm Oghuz language, their semantics and national and cultural characteristics.
