Abstract

The main purpose of this study is to reveal the importance of the connection between Intentional Homicides, Economic growth, Inflation and Unemployment within the scope of increasing crimes. In this context, this study consists of four main sections. In the introduction part of the study, studies on the concepts of Economic Growth, Inflation, Unemployment and crime are discussed and their definitions are made. Reducing crime and Intentional Homicides, which have increased recently, is a situation desired by policy makers and people of all countries. Therefore, policies and measures to be determined for this purpose are very important. Additionally, in the second part of the study, the academic literature was investigated in more detail in terms of the relationship between Economic Growth, Inflation, Unemployment and Intentional Homicides. In the third and last part of the study, Economic Growth, Inflation, Unemployment and Intentional Homicides Analysis were used for Mexico, Colombia and Jamaica, among the countries with the highest number of intentional homicide cases, from 1992 to 2021 using multiple regression, cointegration, FMOLS, DOLS and CCR analyses. The relationship between murders was examined. In the conclusion section, all the results obtained are interpreted and this relationship is concretely addressed with empirical findings.
