Abstract


SOCIAL SCIENCES TEACHER CANDIDATES' PERCEPTION OF QUALITY-ACCREDITATION: THE CASE OF ÇANAKKALE ONSEKİZ MART UNIVERSITY
With the advancement of technology, the concept of quality emerges continuously due to the rapid changes and developments in people's living standards. Undoubtedly, one of the areas most affected by this process of development and change is education. Accreditation processes, which serve as a means to ensure the quality of higher education institutions, are therefore crucial. The aim of this study is to determine the perception of Social Studies teacher candidates regarding quality accreditation processes. The study was conducted using the survey method within the scope of quantitative research. The study group consisted of 83 teacher candidates enrolled in the Social Studies Education undergraduate program at Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University Faculty of Education. The Accreditation Perception Scale Item Pool was used as the data collection tool. The data obtained were analyzed through content analysis, presented with frequencies in tables. Based on the data obtained from the research, findings and interpretations regarding how quality-accreditation processes are perceived by Social Studies teacher candidates and the differentiation between students who have successfully completed the accreditation process and those who have not yet completed or applied for accreditation in their programs are provided.
