Abstract
DETERMINING THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN SCHOOL PRINCIPALS' MANAGEMENT STYLE AND THE CULTURE OF FEAR IN PRIMARY SCHOOLS
The sustainability of social life is only possible through the governance of communities. The style of this management has effects on the governed. This study, which was conducted to determine the relationship between the management style of school principals in primary schools and the level of fear culture in schools, was conducted with 312 primary school teachers working in Pendik district of Istanbul province in the 2023-2024 academic year. When the findings obtained as a result of the Pearson Product Moment analysis of the data collected by applying the Perceived Principal Management Style Scale developed by Üstüner (2016) and the Culture of Fear in Schools Scale developed by Çelik and Kahraman (2019) to the participants were evaluated, it was concluded that collaborative management style caused a decrease in the culture of fear in schools, while authoritarian, indifferent and confrontational management styles caused an increase in the culture of fear in schools.
