Abstract

INVESTIGATION OF B1-B2 STUDENTS' WRITTEN TEXTS IN TERMS OF ACTIVITY-PASSIVITY IN TEACHING TURKISH AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE
The thought structures of societies influence the languages they have. Language learning also means learning the thinking, culture and social structure of the society beyond the structural characteristics. In this way, the social conditions and cultural activities of the language to be learnt are also learnt. This effect is reflected in the language through the structural features of words, sentences and grammar. The aim of the research is to understand whether a language has an objective or subjective structure based on the sentence. In this context, a qualitative research method was used. The research was conducted with a semi-structured interview sheet within the framework of the interview technique and the data of the study were collected from 21 B1 level students at Çanakkale 18 Mart University TOMER. The interview form contains one question: "Compare your holiday celebrations with our holiday celebrations." It is in the form. The sentences in the written texts were analysed with regard to active-passive, noun-phrase-verb-phrase and subjectivity-objectivity and were prepared and interpreted in a table. The results of the study show that the majority of students use active verbal sentences. The majority of the participants come from Turkish countries. For this reason, active and subjective sentences are predominant. When we look at the language used as a result of the research, it shows that the students protect their own culture and there is no cultural corruption. It is found that with the deterioration of cultural structure, more passive sentences are used. The increased use of active sentences in this study shows that there is no cultural corruption.
