Abstract
THE ROLE OF THE FAMILY IN THE INDIVIDUAL'S ACQUISITION OF RELIGIOUS VALUES
Family refers to the first people that every person comes into contact with from the moment they are born. In essence, the individual's first teachings about the world and humanity are given by family members. Although each individual has their own inherent characteristics, childhood is like a white page. It is the family members who shape the lines of the page. Just as the family is responsible for meeting the sociological, biological and economic needs of children, it is also the family that is responsible for meeting their primary education needs. It is the family that plays the primary role in the individual's acquisition of religious values. Of course, different factors such as society, school education, social relations, and new media tools in today's world are involved in the process of acquiring religious values. These factors will also be mentioned in our study, but in front of these factors, the environment where the foundations of all value judgments are laid is the individual's family.
This research focuses on the role of the family in the individual's acquisition of religious values. Some of the important principles emphasized by the study are understanding the child's developmental stages, love, being a role model and effective communication. As a result of the analysis, it was revealed that the family has a critical role in transmitting religious values to the child. At this point, it has been determined that principles such as knowing the child's developmental stages, approaching with love, being an example and communicating effectively come to the fore.
