Abstract
ANALYSIS OF ATTITUDE TOWARD TEACHING PROFESSION AND STATE-TRAIT ANXIETY LEVEL OF STUDENTS IN TEACHING DEPARTMENTS ACCEPTING STUDENTS THROUGH SPECIAL APTITUDE TESTS
This study is conducted to determine the attitudes towards teaching profession and level of state and trait anxieties of students in teaching departments accepting students through special aptitude tests. The sample of the study consists of 130 students from the departments of Physical Education, Art Teaching and Music Education in AİBU. The data collection tools used were attitude scale towards teaching profession and state-trait anxiety scale. Descriptive analysis, t-test, one-way ANOVA, and pearson correlation test were applied. According to the results of the study, it was found that students have positive attitudes towards teaching profession and anxiety level was moderate. There was a statistically meaningful difference among each department in favor of fourth-year students. There was no meaningful difference in terms of the state-trait anxiety level in department variable. There was a statistically meaningful relationship in a moderate level between state and trait anxiety.
