Abstract
MUQÂTIL IBN SULAYMÂN AND AN OVERVIEW OF THE HADITHS HE USES IN HIS TAFSÎR-I KEBÎR
In this article, we tried to introduce Muqâtil ibn Sulayman’s life, his exposion to the criticism about islamic jurisprudence and faith sect, his scientific personality (especially his being an interpreter in this field), his exposion to the severe criticism in the field of Hadith, Hodja and a few of his students’ names, his works and the traits of three of them and one of them is ‘Tafsîr al-Kabîr’ which has the feature of being the first whole tafsir. Then some information about Ubeydullah, his father and Huzayl who are delighted with tafsir will be given. Later on, some Hadith examples some of which are based on tafsir sources, some not are given. Then, we gave classification table of some Hadiths and lastly our article ended with conclusion part.
