Abstract
THE TITLE THRESHOLD IN JALIL AL-QAISI’S SHORT STORIES, THE KINGDOM OF LIGHT REFLECTIONS, AS A MODEL
The concerns of critical studies in the content of the text remained without the real interest in the title threshold of the fictional texts. In our research, we have reached an important task, because the threshold of the title establishes the expectation of the reader or the recipient, just as the title is not a formal phenomenon in the text, but rather it has its connotations, functions, and relationships with the essence of the subject.
The title also has semantic, seductive, implicit, and descriptive functions, and it has its own composition, as it may consist of two or more words, and it may be a nominal or verbal sentence.
In the stories of the writer Jalil al-Qaisi, the title has great importance, as the title has a large semantic space. The titles of this writer are divided into main titles as the title of the story and internal subheadings that have their structural functions within the text of the story.
