Abstract
INTERCULTURAL LEARNING IN FOREIGN LANGUAGE CLASSROOM- A READING SITUATION
This paper deals with interculturality and its importance in foreign language teaching. Intercultural competence has become the educational goal of many educational institutions, because meaningful and appropriate communication requires knowledge of adequate use in order to be able to provide an appropriate interpretation of the communication situation.As a result, assumptions can be made about the potential intentions of the communication partners. Intercultural competence is therefore a bundle of competences included. Based on these thoughts, the aim of this article is to show how these findings can also be used for foreign language teaching. The reading texts hold great potential for promoting intercultural competence.
