Abstract
EXAMINATION OF TEACHERS' PROFESSIONAL PERFORMANCES AND THE LEADERSHIP STYLES OF SCHOOL PRINCIPALS
A leader is a person who can activate the common ideas and wishes that are felt among the people in the group, but that have not emerged, in order to reach the goals. Leadership, on the other hand, is dedication to the work that requires a great enthusiasm. It is the ability to simplify the obscurity in chaotic environments and the complexity in subordinate relationships with effective communication methods. Those who radiate positive energy around show a good example of leadership. Leadership is to inspire the employees, to maintain the interaction between the employees in line with the goals and to ensure the loyalty of the employees to the job. As a leader, the decisions taken by the school principal and the way they take these decisions affect the whole process in the school. High level of school motivation will positively affect the performance of teachers. This will increase the success of the school. The leadership style adopted by the school principals affects the professionalism of the employees in the school, student and teacher commitment and teacher performance. The most important condition for educational institutions to reach their goals and be successful is teacher performance. Accordingly, the aim of this study is to examine the leadership styles of school principals and the performance levels of teachers. 300 teachers participated in the study, which was conducted with the descriptive survey model. The data in the study were collected with the School Principals Leadership Style Scale and the Teacher Performance Evaluation Scale. The collected data were analyzed by means of parametric tests.
