Abstract
THE CHANGES IN THE FAMILY, KINSHIPS AND MARRIAGE SYSTEM IN THE CONTEMPORARY IRAQI COMMUNITY. ( A RESEARCH IN SOCIAL ANTHROPOLOGY/ IN BAGHDAD CITY)
The changes occurred in the family System, kinships and marriage
in the contemporary Iraqi Community are considered one of the basic
topics in the life of the society and the importance and welfare get
increased recently toward the social researches all over the world
for being considered as a development means. In addition, the
welfare gets recently increased in the mid of 20th century and
focusing on these social researches. The family is considered one of
most important social institutions in many primitive and civilized
human communities; hence the sociologists and anthropologists
have hugely concerned over studying the family and analyzing it , as
well as the role it plays in forming the individual and in the social
system in general. . It is impossible to study any society without
studying the family in that community and the role played by the
family relations in the society. The kinship is represented as a social
relationship depending on the ties emerged from the marriage,
fatherhood and brotherhood that link the family members to each
other; besides, this kinship is considered as a network of relations
ensued from kinships. The kinship system with all its systems is
considered one of the most important social consistencies of which
the social construction of family and society is composed. The
marriage system is considered one of the most important social
systems in the community and the phenomenon of marriage depends
on psychological biological instincts as well as it subjects to scales
and civilized concepts in the human communities. The marriage
system got changed in the community, after it was confined within
kinship groups (internal marriage) , it takes a huge area outside the
kinship community among the society .
