Abstract
WHO SHOULD TEACH IN LECTURE VIDEOS? EXPERT, INSTRUCTOR OR A GOOD SPEAKER
Today, educational videos, has become an indispensable element of the learning environment. Practical studies used different types and design of video are very important for the preparation of effective instructional video. One of the design parameters in the video is the identity of the person giving a lecture in the educational video. In this study, it is aimed to investigate the effect of identity of the lecturer in video lectures on learning and satisfaction level. It has been created three equivalent educational video lectures with an expert, a teacher and a good speaker about hand hygiene. The identity of the lecturer is emphasized in text as subtitle on the video. These videos were watched by randomly generated three separate groups of 24 volunteers. After the video presentation sessions achievement test and satisfaction survey was administered for each three groups in this experimental study. As a result of data analysis, it can be expressed that the video lectures of teachers and experts resulted in higher learning level than speakers' lecture video. In addition, participants found the video of experts more effective in terms of motivation and interest.
