Abstract
AKADEMİK ÇEVİRİ EĞİTİMİ VE ÇEVİRİ PİYASASI BEKLENTİSİNİ ÇEVİRİ SOSYOLOJİSİ BAĞLAMINDA DEĞERLENDİRME
In the most general definition, the academic translation education aims to provide translation competence to translation students with different perpectives and skills. When referring to translation competence, it is meant that a interrelated competence spiral, which involve in more than one competencies. Translation competence (involve in language competence, text competence, cultur competence etc.) is a notion that gathers other competencies under its roof and from this aspect the nature of translation competence is like the nature of the multifaceted nature of translation. The acquisition of these competencies is one of the main task of academic translation education. Wenn translation competence is inadequate according to translation task, translation competence should be improved by making updates.
The sociology of translation evaluate the translator’s education, skills and knowledge for their professional life under the heading of secondary habitus. The translator save this skill and knowledge into the secondary habitus and according to translation task recall informations from this habitus. In this study, in the context of sociology of translation will be made a comperative assessment between the secondary habitus that academic translation education aims to provide to the students of translation department and the secondary habitus that the translation market expects the translators who are introduced to the business life. In this way, this study will include an comparative assesment of the degree of the expectations of both areas.
