Abstract
ORTA ÇAĞIN BAŞLANGIÇ DÖNEMİNİN METAFİZİK VE ONTOLOJİK TABLOSU
Ontology, which is the doctrine of essence, covers common issues with metaphysics as well as borderline subjects. Comprehension of metaphysics includes ontology as the manifestation of truth that constitutes the most fundamental research area of philosophical thinking. The fields in question that developed and changed in historical and cultural contexts, were intertwined in the beginning of a great system called traditional metaphysics upon inclusion of the Middle Ages. Metaphysics, which could be described as visible for the initial period of traditional metaphysics due to the difference of essence in the grounding of this immanence, which is an important metaphysical element, undergoes a distinguished change as transcendent metaphysics with the emergence of Christianity. When medieval thinkers discuss existence, it is always possible to find a metaphysical element in their thinking. What needs to be explained here is the position of man determined in accordance with the conditions and characteristics that enable Platonism and Aristotelianism to reconcile in the metaphysics and existence chart of the Middle Ages. In this study, the purpose is to discuss social, philosophical, historical and cultural conditions of the period in relation to each other, due to the positioning of the metaphysical element of the Middle Ages, which is absolute transcendence and the real place of man in existence.
