Abstract
TÜRKÇE ÖĞRETMENİ ADAYLARININ İŞBİRLİKLİ ÖĞRENMEYE İLİŞKİN GÖRÜŞLERİ
There are several methods and techniques used by educators in order to provide effective education service, one of which is cooperative learning. Cooperative learning is a method that contributes student’s learning by their cooperation within a group. The study aimed to elicit pre-service Turkish language teachers’ opinions about cooperative learning. This descriptive survey study involved 90 students, 50 of whom were 3rd graders and 40 of whom were 4th graders, studying at the department of Turkish Language Teaching in a state university. 50 of those students were female, and 40 of them were male. The data were obtained through the “Cooperative Learning Scale” developed by the Centre for the Study of Learning and Performance and adapted into Turkish by the researcher. Some of the items were eliminated from the original scale, and 37 items were included in its final version. The data analysis revealed that there were not any statistically significant differences between pre-service Turkish language teachers’ opinions on cooperative learning regarding gender or grade level.
