Abstract
THE RIGHTS OF MINORITIES (THE SAMPLE OF AUSTRALIA)
The case of minority rights has a long history, however; with the developments in Southern and Eastern Europe in 80’s, it has been even more of an issue. After these developments, under the umbrella of international organisations as United Nations ( UN), Council of Europe (CE), The Commission on Security and Cooperation in Europe (CSCE), Organisation for Security and Co- operation in Europe ( OSCE) , substantial steps have been taken for the standardisation of minority rights. In this study, within the context of the steps taken by the international organisations, Austria will be taken as a model and the historical development of the minority rights and the practices in this field will be analysed.
