Abstract
THE TRADİTİON OF SAYİNG PRAYERS AND CURSES OF KARAPAPAK TEREKEME TURKS
Applause and imprecation arising from people's need to respond to good or evil done takes place in almost all oral culture products of all societies.These terms, derived from ‘alka’ praise and imprecation curseare patterns that transfer people's feelings and thoughts to the other side. These pray and curse words have been adopted by the society so much that they have found its place in many literary genres like fairy tale, lullaby, mania, lament, folk song, epic and folk tale. Karapapak-Terekeme Turks who has lived scattered in many cities such as Ağrı, Kars,Iğdır, Erzurum, Sivas, Tokat andAmasya used this languagewhich contains traces of their own material and spiritual cultures in their daily lives.In our study, ‘applause’ and imprecation compiled from Karapapak-Terekeme Turks will be tried to be examined intopic, content and shape properties. applauses and imprecation in this study have been written according to the dialect characteristics of the Karakapak-Terekeme Turks. A better analyze of these patterns will contribute to the understanding of the traditional lifestyle of the Karakapak-Terekeme Turks.
