Abstract
ON THE CEVÂMİÜ’L-HİKÂYÂT AND LEVÂMİ’Ü’R-RİVÂYÂT WHICH IS REGISTERED IN HASAN HÜSNÜ NO. 720
Cevâmiü’l-hikâyât and Levâmi’ü’r-rivâyât, consist of Persian stories, were written by Muhammed Avfi in the 13 th century. As far as it’s known there are three Turkish tranlations for this work. Turkish tranlations were made by Celalzade Salih Çelebi, Necati, and Ibn Arabshah. Translations made by Celalzade Salih Çelebi has gotten through to the present time, but the translations of Necâtî and Ibn Arabshah have not been found. There ara various opinions about Hasan Hüsnü no. 720 that it belongs to Necati which is registered in Hasan Paşa Manuscript Library. There’s no conclusion that this in manuscript of stories related to our work may belong to Necati. It is stated that the work that was completed in 1539 consisted of 1385 stories in the index section. A simple and plain language was used in summary tranlations of some stories from the source work. In this work Cevâmiü’l-hikâyât and Levâmi’ü’r-rivâyât which is registered in Hasan Pasha Manuscripts Library, in Hasan Hüsnü no. 720 were introduced the topics of this transcript was compared to the topics of the transcripts that are registered in National Library 50 Damad 39 and Nuruosmaniye 3232, it was tried to draw an attention to the content and structure of Cevâmiü’l-hikâyât and Levâmi’ü’r-rivâyât.
