Abstract
ATTITUDES TEACHER CANDIDATES TOWARDS MULTICULTURAL EDUCATION (ÇANAKKALE ONSEKİZ MART UNIVERSITY EXAMPLE)
In this research, attitudes of teacher candidates towards multicultural education were analyzed by gender and hometown variables. The study was designed as a descriptive research. Data of this study were collected from 205 teacher candidates who study in Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University Faculty of Education Primary School Teaching Licence Programme 4th class by using “Scale of Attitudes Towards Multicultural Education” which was developed by Yavuz and Anıl (2010). T-test and Anova statistical tests were applied in addition to descriptive statistic on data. According to results of this research attitudes of primary school teacher candidates towards multicultural education were positive (X=4.14), attitudes towards multicultural education in the favor of female teacher candidates and no significant difference was observed in hometown variable.
