Abstract


PROBLEMS IN TEACHING PERSIAN AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE AND SOLUTIONS
Learning a foreign language is incredibly important. Thanks to Iran’s scientific, economic, commercial, political and cultural relations with other countries, teaching Persian as a foreign language has become indispensable in many countries. The study aimes to investigate the problems the learners have encountered in teaching Persian as a foreign language and the evaluation of course books from the related studies. Within the scope of the study, the most frequent problems foreign learners face were found to have difficulty in learning the grammar rules, differences between written and spoken language, transfer from the learners mother tongue and inadequate teaching methods and materials. Based on the study, some recommendations were presented to improve teaching and designing materials.
