Abstract
ACCORDING TO WILFRED CANTWELL SMITH “RELIGION AND ISLAM CONCEPT”
İt have been questions about what the concept of religion or belief is for a very long time asked by religion historians and philosophers of religion, but the answers that they gave generally to these questions were different from each other. I will try to review in this article Canadian Professor Wilfred Cantwell Smith' thoughts that has about the Far East and Asian Religions many studies as comparative historian of religions with regard to concept of religion and Islam how to define and which materialization process to spend in the historical process. It will be also examined in the scope of this article convictions that Smith made especially for the special case of Islam in other religions.
