Abstract
INVESTIGATING PROSPECTIVE TEACHERS’ ATTITUDES TOWARDS TEACHING PROFESSION
In this study the main aim was to examine prospective teachers’ attitudes towards the teaching profession in terms of different variables. Designed on a survey research model, the data were collected with a five-point scale which was developed and validated by Capa & Cil (2000). The study group consisted 113 students from different teaching departments. Regarding students’ department and choice order for university entrance exam, the data were analysed statistically using t –test, ANOVA, Pearson moment correlation and post-hoc tests. There were significant differences according to some variables. At the end of the study, the results of the research were discussed by comparing with the related literature and various suggestions were made in the light of the findings.
