Abstract
EBÛ MANSÛR MEVHÛB el-CEVÂLÎKÎ AND HIS BOOK CALLED “el-MU‘ARRAB MİN KELÂM el-A‘CEMÎ
One of the objects that people care the most and even bless ,on occasion, is their language and literature. Sometimes, the efforts to purify the language are seen, but interpersonal relations, languages have been affected by different dimensions. Every language is influenced by this. Many words entered into Arabic as well. There are also Arabic linguists who analyze and criticise these words. One of those linguists is Ebû Mansûr Mevhûb el-Cevâlîqî (d. 502/1145), who is the owner of the book “el-Mu‘arrab min Kelâmi’l-A‘cem”. In his work about 732 words have been on focus, and the language in which the words are mentioned. He has acted according to scientific measurements and objectively. In this study, a short biography of el-Cevâlîqî was given, and the teacher and his students were discussed; More than twenty words have been analyzed
