Abstract
INVESTIGATION OF THE REASONS OF ELEMENTARY MATHEMATICS TEACHING DEPARTMENT STUDENTS' ARRIVAL TO SUMMER SCHOOL
The aim of the study is to examine the reasons for the participation of the Elementary Mathematics Teaching Department students attending summer school. The study was conducted with 351 students studying in the Elementary Mathematics Teaching Department during the summer term of the 2016-2017 academic year. n the study, a screening model was used based on quantitative research approach. Percent (%) values were calculated in the analysis of the data. According to the findings, 31% of the students attending the summer school participated in the summer school in order to take the lesson and to take lessons from the upper period. This category is followed by students who attend summer school due to the extension of 23%. Apart from this, the class levels and categories are interpreted and discussed separately. In addition, results obtained without study were discussed and compared with current researches in the related field and suggestions were given to researchers interested in the subject.
