Abstract
DETERMINATION OF RESEARCH METHOD IN SOCIAL SCIENCES
The scientific research process begins with the identification of a problem and develops with a research plan for solving the problem. Answering the research problem effectively depends on determining the most appropriate method for the research. The method by which researchers develop the solution of the problem must be determined according to the nature of the research, the purpose of the research, and the individual characteristics of the researcher. However, it is crucial to know the basic philosophy on which different research approaches are based on the method selection, the criteria for selecting these approaches, and the design to be used in accordance with these approaches. The purpose of this work as a compilation through literature review is to present quantitative, qualitative and mixed research approaches that will help to determine the research method. For this purpose, the research approaches have been discussed in such a way as to serve how researcher determine methods. It is hoped that the study with this aspect will create a resource for the researchers in social sciences when selecting methods.
