Abstract


EXAMINATION OF PRIMARY SCHOOL TEACHERS' ONLINE PRIVACY AWARENESS LEVELS
This research was carried out with the aim of examining the online privacy awareness of classroom teachers working in primary schools depending on various demographic variables. The universe of the research is the classroom teachers working in the official primary schools in the Ünye district of Ordu province, data were collected from 188 teachers using the easily accessible sampling method in the research. During the data collection phase of the study, the Online Privacy Awareness Scale, consisting of 17 items and 3 factors, developed by Korkma, Vergili, and Karadaş (2021), was used after obtaining necessary permissions. Since the distribution of the obtained data met the assumption of normality, independent samples t-test and analysis of variance (ANOVA) were used to examine the variation between groups. According to the results of the analysis, it was found that the online privacy awareness of the teachers participating in the study was high. In the study, the differentiation between gender, education level, marital status, professional seniority and age variable groups was discussed in terms of online privacy awareness and mean scores of communication, security and attention sub-dimensions. It was found that the online privacy awareness levels did not differ significantly depending on the variables of gender, marital status, education level, age and professional seniority. In the communication sub-dimension, it was observed that female teachers had higher awareness than male teachers.
