Abstract
DISCOURSES ON THE EMERGENCE OF NATIONALITIES AND PAUL BRASS
Paul Brass argues that nations are the product of a modern society. This advocacy will bring the search for the answer to the question of the conditions under which the nations have emerged. Brass claims that groups of people who have completed the ethnic consciousness of nations have emerged with political demands. As a result, according to the thoughts of Brass, the difference of nations from ethnic groups lies in their ability to produce social processes that can raise political demands. A detailed analysis of the elements that politicize ethnic groups is therefore necessary. Although the study explores these elements, it critically examines the claims made by Brass.
